“Join over 500 students who have already gained the skills to succeed.”
Curriculum / Topics We Cover
This program is far more than financial literacy, it’s a comprehensive enrichment initiative rooted in mentorship, leadership, and social emotional learning (SEL). Taylor’s Word helps students develop real world skills like budgeting, goal setting, conflict resolution, gratitude, giving, and decision making
One of the most powerful components is the formation of a Student Leadership Team, where students are celebrated for their growth and service. After mastering budgeting, our scholars will guide a budgeting workshop for selected families in need, who will then participate in a weeklong budgeting challenge. Students will assess needs and offer in-kind gifts, such as assistance with groceries or a utility bill, applying financial literacy in a way that empowers both themselves and their community.
We also plan to launch a Student Business Club, modeled after previous successful events like a chicken and waffle sale, where students donated a portion of proceeds to help fund 8th grade dues. These projects foster entrepreneurship, teamwork, and community engagement. Students in both the business and leadership clubs will receive custom t-shirts, certificates, and opportunities for field trips.
To make this all happen, I typically invest personally in materials, snacks, gift cards, trips, and rewards to ensure our scholars are fully supported and celebrated.
I believe this initiative has the power to transform not only student mindsets, but school culture and family engagement. I’d love to connect to explore how we can align this impactful vision with your goals.
